THE EXUMA FOUNDATION

The Exuma Foundation exists to support education in all of its aspects on Exuma and to enhance the quality of life there. Established in 1998 with a gift from the Benjamin Family Foundation, it is a U.S. non profit community foundation that raises funds and issues grants to fulfil its mission. Since 1998, the Foundation has raised over $2m for projects, including those at the resource centre, major facility expansion and a new Activity Centre adjacent to the Centre, low cost housing for elderly adults, environmental education and many others. The Exuma Foundation is managed by a volunteer board of directors.

Our Mission

The misson of The Exuma Foundation is to Enhance the quality of life for the people of the Island of Exuma in The Bahamas, both now and for generations to come, by encouraging and managing gifts for Operating, Capital and Endowment, by addressing Community needs through Grantmaking, and by providing philanthropic leadership.
